Nutribudget: Lugaw at Tokwa
This Filipino classic dish is simple to make and is full of healthy nutrients. It combines the flavors of malagkit rice cooked in pork broth topped with tofu.
To give the dish added flavor and texture, you can add some hard boiled eggs, fried garlic and some sliced spring onions.
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- ½ pc onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger, sliced
- 1 pc Knorr Pork Cube
- ½ cup malagkit rice
- 1½ cup water
- pinch black pepper
- 1 pc tokwa
- Begin by getting your pan nice and hot. Pour some oil and throw in the onions, ginger and garlic.
- Add malagkit rice and patis and stir well. Pour the water in and just allow to simmer over low heat.
- Toss in the Knorr Pork Cubes and just simmer until the rice is cooked through.
