Mix the ground pork, shrimp, onion, spring onions, carrots, singkamas, crumbled Knorr Pork Cubes, sesame oil, egg, and pepper in a bowl.
Put your index finger and thumb together to create a flat base for your wonton topper to rest on.
Place a spoonful of the filling on the center of the wonton wrapper.
Push the filling down inside the circle formed by your index finger and thumb to create that siomai-shaped pouch. Leave the top open and set aside.
Continue making the rest of your siomai using the same technique.
Cook the prepared siomai in a steamer lined with wax paper. (Baking paper or aluminum foil are also good substitutes.) Steam for 20-30 minutes or until cooked through.
You can enjoy your steamed siomai or take the extra step of frying them in an air-fryer to get that extra-crisp texture minus the oil.
To air-fry the siomai, brush the outside of the siomai with oil and place in your air-fryer to cook for 10-15 minutes at 180C/350F.
Serve with siomai dipping sauce and chili garlic paste.
