It’s not like any other spaghetti in the world because it’s a dish that brings back memories with family and friends.

But did you know that this party favorite can get even better? Here’s the trick to take it up a notch: add mayonnaise to the sauce. Unusual? Definitely. But the mayo makes the sauce extra smooth and creamy. Here’s the new spaghetti sauce recipe to replace your current go-to!

Tips

Instead of plain water, use pasta boiling water to make your sauce thick and glossy. Try serving this sauce with other noodles like macaroni or fettuccine as well.

Ingredients
  • 500 g spaghetti noodles
  • 4 tbsp cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • 2 pcs medium onions, chopped finely
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 pcs red bell peppers, cored, seeded, and chopped finely
  • 1 pc carrot, chopped finely
  • 1 pc bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3 pcs jumbo hotdogs, sliced diagonally into rings
  • 1 (825-g) pouch sweet-style spaghetti sauce
  • 1/4 cup Lady's Choice Real Mayonnaise
  • grated cheese
Cooking Method
  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Heat a pan and add cooking oil. Sauté garlic and onions, then add ground beef. Cook over high heat until meat is no longer pink.

  3. Lower heat, then add bell peppers, carrots, and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Pour water into the pan and bring to a boil. Cover with a lid and let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the mixture is almost dry and the vegetables are tender.

  5. Turn up the heat and add hotdogs. Stir for 1 minute. Add spaghetti sauce and bring to a boil. Adjust seasonings to taste. Lower heat, cover, and simmer for another 5-7 minutes.

  6. Add Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise. Stir well until the spaghetti sauce becomes creamy and the color turns lighter.

  7. Transfer cooked spaghetti to a plate and pour the sauce on top. Garnish with grated cheese.

The best thing about making spaghetti sauce at home is the freedom to customize it as you like. Want it even creamier? Aside from mayonnaise, you can also stir in cooking cream. Don’t like beef? Swap it for ground chicken or chopped bacon. For the brave souls, add chili flakes and see how much spice you can take. Save this recipe for your next party and have a chance to be called the host of the year!
