Ingredients
For the beef:
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 pc Knorr Beef Cube
- 4 pcs calamansi, juiced
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- pinch ground black pepper
- 350 g beef sirloin, sliced thinly (tapa cut)
For the garlic sauce:
- 1/2 cup Lady's Choice Real Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
For the shawarma rice:
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 2 tbsp chopped garlic
- 1 pc Knorr Chicken Cube
- 1 tsp Knorr Chicken Cube
- 4 cups cooked rice
For topping:
- 1 medium white onion, sliced thinly
- 3 pcs ripe tomatoes, deseeded and sliced thinly
- 1/2 pc cucumber, peeled, deseeded, and sliced into thin sticks
Get creative with the toppings! Some recipes recommend adding chickpeas, a green salad, and shredded cheese. Or you can follow the same steps to make chicken shawarma rice. This marinade is versatile enough to use for other proteins. For the rice, use last night’s leftovers for that toothsome texture. Want it spicier? Add some hot sauce to replicate the New York-style shawarma platter (only for the brave!). Lastly, maximize the crunch factor by sprinkling tortilla chips on top. Enjoy!
