Leftover Bread Recipe
Don’t throw away your leftover bread! These recipes specifically call for stale leftover bread because of its ability to absorb liquid easier and crunch up better than fresh bread.
Croutons

You don’t need to buy those tiny packets of croutons in the supermarket. Use your leftover bread instead and make the most delicious croutons you’ve ever tried. Simply slice your leftover bread into cubes, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and bake in the oven at 190°C or until golden. You’ll have crunch and delicious croutons that are ready to be added to your fresh salads. Just make sure to flip your cubed leftover bread halfway during the baking time to make sure you brown the sides evenly.
Bread Pudding
Bread pudding is a delicious way to make your leftover bread into something special. This recipe is easy and uses up a lot of your leftover bread so nothing goes to waste. Here’s how to make it:
Grease a 6-inch baking dish and add 3 cups of cubed leftover bread to it. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup milk, 2 whole eggs, ½ cup white sugar, 1 tbsp melted butter, 1 tbsp vanilla extract, and ½ tsp ground cinnamon. Pour the mixture evenly on top of the bread and let it soak for 20-25 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C and once ready, bake the pudding for 30-35 minutes. The pudding will be jiggly but set. Remove from oven when done and allow to cool. You can top it with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with this delicious Brown Butter Salted Caramel Sauce.
With these recipes, it’s time to finally end the endless dinners with the same dishes and explore creative ways to use up leftover lechon, lechon manok, and bread.
