Tips
To remove or reduce the bitterness from the Ampalaya, you can soak the ampalaya slices in seasoned water with salt for at least 10 minutes. Remember to rinse the slices before cooking to remove excess salt.

- Batter:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 pc. raw egg, slightly beaten
- 33 g (1 pack) Knorr Complete Recipe Mix Ginataang Gulay
- 1 cup water
- pepper, to taste
- Chicken:
- 500 g. chicken breast fillet
- cooking oil for frying
- Sauce:
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 pc small onion, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pc ampalaya, chopped
- 1/2 cup water
- 33 g (1 pack) Knorr Complete Recipe Mix Ginataang Gulay
- 1 pc sili sigang
- pepper, to taste
Cooking Method
- There are only 2 steps in making this unique and great tasting dish. First, you need to cook the chicken fillet and second, you need to create a sauce that will go with the chicken.
- Let’s begin by making the batter. Place all the ingredients for the batter in a bowl and dip the breast fillets in before frying them in hot oil. Then, remove them from the oil and allow these to drain in a plate lined with paper towels.
- Next, let’s cook the sauce. In a saucepan, turn your heat up to medium and pour some oil. Throw the onions and garlic in and sauté until the onion is translucent and the garlic is golden. Now, add the ampalaya with the water, Knorr Complete Recipe Mix Ginataang Gulay, sili sigang and a dash of pepper. Stir gently and allow to simmer until the ampalaya is cooked.
