Foodhack: A Healthier KFC’s Double Down Burger Recipe
We’ve all heard the news – the KFC Double Down Burger is coming back! This bunless burger with a cult following has a whopping 540 calories. It’s an indulgent dish that’s worth the hype, but for some, not the calories. That’s why we decided to create a healthier version of KFC’s Double Down Burger – still satisfying but with fewer calories. Instead of deep frying the chicken breasts, we pan-sear them instead. Instead of full-fat cheese, we use low-fat. The end product is a Double Down Burger that’s healthier than the original but just as satisfying.
Tips
For an even healthier version, simply roast the chicken breast in the oven instead of dredging with flour and pan searing beforehand. For a more indulgent version, add a slice of Canadian or American bacon in between.
